Annabelle on the Rock Climbing Wall

Anna climbed this rock wall about 10 times!
She just zips right up and then repeals back down.
All the way to the top!

Fun at Trafalga - Lehi

After lunch at Fairbanks we went to Kroeber's and Polly's to change out of swim suits and into summer clothes to go to Trafalga Fun Center.  Here is the Frog Hopper - full of wonderful kids we all love.
Eli has on the flip flops Sam gave him - and Isaac lost his crocs on this ride.  Actually without closed toes shoes Eli couldn't do Laser Tag or Go Carts ... so Joel and Eli shared Joel's shoes!
Isaac was the best at Mini Golf - look into the Heather and Chris!  Everyone had a great time.
 Is that good golf form?
Anna and Isaac went on these boats - the have a water gun that lets you squirt other boats!
The boys on the go carts - Anna wanted to keep climbing the Rock Wall.
Isaac on his boat - I wanted to get both Anna and Isaac in the same picture but it didn't happen!
More go cart fun!

Seven Peaks with Kroebers

We worked hard on Tuesday evening - so on Wednesday we left Grandpa to paint and we met Kroeber's at Seven Peaks.
It is really fun to have cousins to play with ... and any time we can spend with family is great.
This Tadpool Pool is really fun... Briella's floaties helped her to have lots of freedom and fun.
This is the wave pool - waiting for the waves!
Keenyn just after the blue slide - Avalance I think it is called.
Heather and Briella after the same slide - happy smiles!
Joel and Anna on their double tube ... Eli and Isaac just had their turn on the Half Pipe - fun.
Aunt Heather got 3 pizzas and we headed to Aunt Lindsey's house to share lunch with them.
Cutest 'Princess's" around!  Heather said Briella never does anything like this - she needs a sister!
Delia enjoying lunch with us - she leaves next week and said she has had a great time.

Bountiful and Pleasant Grove

This plaque is across the street from my Smith Grandparents ancestral home - 200 North, West Temple Street in Salt Lake City.
This is Glenn Grosebeck and Christine Johnson home when I was growing up.  John Henry Smith's home when my Grandpa was a little boy.  We parked across the street on our way to the luncheon at the Joseph Smith Building.
Driving back to Bountiful to pick up Joel and Anna we saw this buck deer just cruising up the lawns at the side of the street!
Del and Kathy Mortensen - they took Joel and Anna and other cousins to the movie - Inside Out.  Joel and Anna had a great time.
Getting to Pleasant Grove at Polly's - we helped paint some of the trim and corners.  The kids didn't have old clothes that they could get paint on ...so Polly found them old tee shirts to paint in.  Eli and Isaac had done a couple of the bedrooms and Joel and Anna did two others...fun.
Joel painting his corner of the room.  With this trimming it makes the paint roller of the walls easier.
Polly showing us all how to do it ... We all liked the newer pain color much better than the old one.
Polly and Anna went to get dinner - yummy burgers!

More fun with Siblings

After visiting and trying to decide what the pictures were!  we headed to the Garden Restaurant at the Joseph Smith Building....old Hotel Utah.  This is the view from the east end of the 10th floor.
Janice, Tom and Harold - all getting older - we wanted to get together before we got together at a funeral!!
We laughed and talked and laughed some more.  Janice and Wayne just got back from a trip to Europe - Scandanivia and Russia - with their son Alan and wife Robyn.
Here's the whole group - not to bad for being so old!!  I thought I was dressing up for the occasion and then both Jean and Janice had skirts on - I will never be in fashion!!!
This is the temple from the West view of the 10th floor.
When we mentioned to our server that it was Wayne's 80th birthday - he said their procedure was to give the birthday person a balloon, open the roof of the restaurant and have the birthday person make a wish and let the balloon float upward into the sky!  Tom and Harold in the background - Wayne was embarrassed but the rest of us thought it was fun!
Here's the in-laws!  Wayne doesn't have any gray hair - and he doesn't dye it!  Not a lot of hair, but none gray!  Jean and I on the other hand - we use a little help staying not all gray!!  We have been blessed to have such wonderful extended family.
A closer look at the whole group - we had a great time remembering all the years - 50 for me!  I am the youngest - Jean is 71 and I'll be 70 next month.  We made plans to meet again next July 21st - Janice will be 80 in March.  Tom is 76 - and we are all happy to be still around!  Family is the best!

Siblings Reunion

On Tuesday, July 21st, we drove to Bountiful and left Joel and Anna to visit with their Mortensen grandparents for a couple of hours.  Tom and Jean drove up from Arizona, we met at Janice and Wayne's house in Bountiful.  Here are Janice, Dad and Tom and Jean viewing some old pictures that we had put on a disk from old negatives in a box we had from Grandma.  It was Uncle Wayne's 80th Birthday and we had planned on getting together for about 6 months!
Here is Grandma Phyllis on the far right, her Mother - Grandma Mary Jones, then her youngest sister, Wanda Cox, and Elise Jones - her only daughter-in-law...we think around 1950.
Here is Harold in the Portland Rose Garden - around 10 years old ... cute kid!
Grandpa Sam was usually involved with young people - here with Scouts - Tom on the far left, and Harold in front - Kent Payne - whose father worked with Sam at the Oregon Boys Home.
Tom, Harold, Grandma an Janice in front of their house at MacLaren - Oregon Home for Deliquent Boys.
Their horse Nicker, with Juanita Payne.  One of Sam's friends was a long haul trucker - he was involved in an accident that killed the mother horse - in Eastern Oregon.  He knew Sam liked horses and lived at the boys ranch so he brought the baby horse to them.  They fed her with a bottle and she thrived.  She was very smart and could get out of the gate whenever she wanted to.  Tom could control her pretty good, but Harold was too small and light - she would try and rub him off on the low tree branches!
Here is one of their cats in Tom and Harold's bedroom window.  One summer morning they had the window open to get some cool air - and they woke up with Nicker's head through this window!  She had gotten out of the gate - again!
The Cardsten Temple - their car with the small trailer.  They had been to Yellowstone for a family trip.

Dinner - Chinese Food

Dad and I went to get Chinese Food for dinner ... with the little ones we knew they liked rice and noodles!
We had another yummy watermelon - it is the summer staple, right?  and good for us.  Katie went back to the park to ride a couple of rides with Annabelle - then she headed north.
Here is our camp site - #192... Fun to use the tent twice in the same month!!
Polly spent the night with us - leaving to drive back to work at 5:00 AM!  It was fun to have just a little bit of family in the tent - we talked about old times.
Dad getting ready to load the truck - not the same as camping in the mountains but still fun.  We were lucky to have no 'next door neighbors' - the camp became more crowded as the day went on, but we were happy to be by ourselves.
Another picture of dinner - notice in the background, Fairbanks car and Kate's next to our tent.  Thanks everyone for the great day - one more wonderful time to be with the Hardy's and Pike's before they leave for their eastern homes.
