Star Valley Temple

Driving to Star Valley for the temple open house - gotta love Wyoming!
Nice herd of cattle !  Cowboys on four wheelers at the back of the herd.
 Pretty autumn scenery.
You could ride a big shuttle bus from the Stake Center Parking lot to the temple ... in the background or you could ride the horse drawn wagon ... too long a wait so we rode the bus.  I love the rolls of hay in the field!
 Closer view of the wagon.
It is very small - we've had living rooms larger than some rooms in the temple - beautiful decor, as usual.

snow in the mtns.

Saturday we drove home from Provo - and enjoyed the sight of snow on the tops of the mountains.
It seemed to get to be more as we drove north - pretty sight!
With the first day of Fall, Sept. 22nd - the weather was right on time - cooler and wetter.
Pretty drive - as usual - at least for me, Dad does all the driving!!

Senior FHE - Beautiful Jordan

We had the Senior FHE at our house on Monday, 19th of Sept.  I surprised Dad with a small birthday cake - fun to share with friends!!

Not too many of the senior couples could come - but those that did come had a good time.
Isn't he cute?  candles are a number 7 and four ones!!
We went to the Temple in Rexburg on Thursday - and took this beautiful granddaughter out to lunch afterward -aren't we the luckiest???

Montana State Football Game

Saturday, Sept. 17th  we drove to Bozeman to attend the MSU Football game with Stan, Julie and Thia.  Stan's boss invited us to his Tail Gate lunch - and it was delicious!  Here are his bosses three daughter's admiring Thia - as we all did!  Lexie, Kensie and Morgan.
Stan's boss'es wife with their new puppy - a Golden Retreiver - named Indy...and the rest of the people at the lunch. His boss and two college friends - who have stayed friends all these years. Nice people.
Kenzie and Thia's outfits matched!!  Julie has taught the two youngest daughters in school and sport camps - they are playing Lacrosse now.
Stan showing off his beautiful daughter - she liked it!
Walking over to the game we came across the Marching Band - pretty fun.
MSU was way better than Western Oregon - a level three school, Dad said.  It was 34 to 0 at half time and we had a four hour trip home so we left then.
They have this Lion King thing where men hold their babies up - Makes me nervous - Thia was the cutest one there - but the jumbotron didn't see her!
At their house waiting for game time ... she is still the calmest, sweetest little thing....so loved being able to hold her and snuggle for a bit.  She is up to 10 pounds plus now - good check ups!

Trip to Grace - Dad's Birthday

On Dad's birthday he wanted to drive to Grace, ID - we had never been there and he took his fishing pole!  On the way we saw some beautiful fall colors on the mountains.
We live in a pretty part of the world!
The colors were stunning with the sun on them!
This is the Bear River - jut outside of Grace.
Dad fished for only a little bit - said he caught a lot of moss!  He only had lures and said this needed flies - he will probably go back.  I read a book while he fished ... perfect.
"Dead Skunk in the middle of the road"  - find that song on google and listen - Sophie and Grace and I laughed at it in June when we visited NC.
Close up for Auntie Emilee! ... just like the song says:  "stinking to High Heaven!"
Dad wanted me in a picture - I could have passed on that ... but it was his birthday!
See that old water flow wooden pipe in the background?  That was built in 1902 - and brought water to both sides of the valley - so they could raise crops.
Look who came to visit?  Wonderful Amy Mortensen!  She had business in Pocatello so came from Twin Falls - and we were so happy to have her visit for a couple hours - fun catching up on their family happenings.

Service Project

With Dad digging up the side lawn, we needed to move this huge cement thing to the back yard to put the garbage cans on ...we fed the Elders last week and asked them on Sunday if they wanted to do a service project for us ... of course they were happy to do that!  They brought two other companionships - we have an Elder from Samoa and one of the others was from Tonga - I think those two could have lifted the whole thing!
Here are the elders working - the two Polynesians came with bare feet - - I gave Dad's garden black crocks to our elder - the other one didn't want any:  "My feet are tougher than shoes!"
More of them - notice the bare feet!!
 Success!
Nice to have big strong elders around!

Pocatelloo happenings

We were so happy to have the Fairbanks family stay the night on Wednesday - Aug. 31st - they were on their way to Wenatchee to celebrate Labor Day with the Fromm's - Olivia decorated my computer screen for me!  From Harry Potter she said! I love it and her!!
As the Fairbanks were leaving Thursday morning we saw this awesome rainbow - almost complete and look closely above it - a double rainbow! Surely good luck for all.
Today Dad harvested again in our small garden - time to share with all the neighbors!!
Love the pictures Sadie and Olivia drew for me - and scotch taped up on my walls!!  Actually I think this one was Georgia's!
This one was Sadie's - such fun to have family visit ..come one and all - anytime!
