Idaho Falls Temple Rededication

Our Stake President gave us tickets to actually be in the temple at the noon session of the rededication.  There are three, 9,12, and 3.  It was really nice - beautiful day and wonderful event.

We had to wait in line for about an hour - but it was well worth it!  Someday my dream is to have all my children and their spouses in the temple with me ... I may be a spirit but whatever!!

More Celebration

 All the youth waving their 'colors' and singing -  pretty impressive.

 They all had little finger glow sticks - really pretty.

 Our stake had blue skirts that I helped sew - but these green ones were closer to the camera.

 As the youth sang the closing song - Angel Moroni came out of the top of the set!! Same one I posted a picture of Dad standing next to in the painting shed.

The youth told us it was really hot on the floor of the Holt Arena - they did great!

Youth Cultural Celebration

 We arrived home at six and the youth Cultural Celebration began at seven!  Here are some of the young men representing the early pioneers and settlers of the Snake River Plain...we painted the blue and gold on the back scenery!

 The Native Americans from Fort Hall did some awesome dances - loved the drums and little ones...and the costumes. We painted the gold color on the back cubes.

 There were about 1200 youth in all - here they are singing a song about 'potatoes' and tossing sacks of potatoes around the floor ... fun!

 The Hispanic influence was also celebrated - such pretty colors and dancing.

 This scenery is supposed to be Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem .. we painted some of the bricks.

Closer look - we added white to the top and sides of the bricks to help them look three dimensional - we did a good job!

Kacey's Graduation at the Apple Bowl

 Here is the program for Kacey's Graduation ... the Apple Bowl is their football stadium - no tickets and plenty of room for everyone to come who wants to!

 When Jordan sat down by me - I noticed her scratched arm ... she said it was a cat at work - the Vet Clinic.  I told her - you are supposed to sedate them - she said:  I was trying to!!

The small puncture wound is actually a dog bite - occupational hazards for a vet I guess!

 Here we are - waiting to cheer for Kacey - Lexi, Shelby, Stefan, Heidi, Jordan and then me and Grandpa.

 Jordan and I noticed that we are reflected in the silver balloon this lady was holding in front of us!

 Kacey and friends walking in to their seats - nice that Fromm is at the front of the alphabet - Dad and I left after she was announced - driving back to Spokane for the night.

Kacey's Graduation

 We were so happy to be able to spend even a few hours with the Fromm Family and celebrate Kacey's great achievement ... in two weeks she graduates with her Associates Degree from Wenatchee Community College - awesome young woman!

 Heidi made Kacey this fun lei - hot cheetos and $5.00 bills - 10 of them!!!

Ohme Gardens - Wenatchee WA

 We went to Wenatchee for Kacey's high school graduation... we had a little time and Heidi suggested we visit Ohme Gardens - had never done that.  When we got there we figured out why we hadn't - $8.00 each - Dad was reluctant but I told him I was going in and he could wait for me!  He decided to come with me.  Here is a stump near a spring and it has been giving water for years!  pretty good also.

 Dad didn't!!  I took a picture of the patch - didn't want to purchase it!

 I could be honest and say I messed up the camera shot - - but then I could say I was trying to take a picture of the pretty flowers at Dad's feet!!

 One of the many fireplaces - the Ohme family purchased the land - thinking they would build a house ... then the depression hit and banks were not lending money for houses - - so they decided to work on the yard.  They drove to the mountains and brought back trees, ferns, etc. and planted them. They had to haul water up the hill from the Columbia River!

 Took pictures of a couple post cards - It is a pretty place - visit when you can.

 Heidi said they had several weddings up there - I can see why - cool and pretty!

Field of Honor - Memorial Day 2017

 Memorial Day we visited the Field of Honor - set up at Century High School - names and crosses for all those who have died from the latest wars...very sobering.

 Battle flags of the units represented.

 Medal of Honor winners from each war - very courageous stories of their deeds.
