One of our fun Office Elders got married, August 15th, and we went to the reception in Clinton, Utah.
The Wedding Announcement was Harry Potter themed so we thought the reception would be ... was it ever!
I'm not sure of all the reasons for these things but they looked pretty and tasted good!
Chocolate frogs? like I said - it looked pretty and tasted good.
We passed this table up .. already had too much sugar for one day!
Table decorations - pretty extensive and cute.
Not certain what the meaning of this is - but it was clever - basket had a bunch of plastic wands - I guess people were supposed to take one - we didn't, not knowing for sure what they were for.
This is the book you sign when you first come in...I liked the pictures through out the pages.
These were chocolate brownie cake lolly pops! Covered in yellow candy - yummy.

More Zoo Fun
Joel and Annabelle both earned I-Pods and enjoying taking pictures with them.
The Bison and geese enjoyed the creek in their compound.
The elk had only one antler - he didn't stand up so we don't know if it made him unbalanced!
This is the bear enclosure - the small bear was sitting on the top of the green hill - looks like a triangle here.
This large bald eagle was just sitting on its perch ... as we watched he screeched and screeched - it was cool.
Fun spider web for the kids to climb on.
It was a sunny day and not too hot.
This 'noodle' titter totter was interesting - didn't go up and down as much as the regular one.
I thought I could 'bounce' Joel higher - but it doesn't let you!

Pocatello Zoo
On Tuesday, August 18, we took Joel and Anna to the Pocatello Zoo. Anna had gone once before with her school class on a field trip ... Joel had never gone. Seemed like a fun 'last of summer' activity!
First stop - see the small deer by Anna? between the rails of the fence - this zoo is indigenous to Idaho - having only animals, birds, etc. which are natural and found in our area.
This coyote exhibit was pretty neat - two coyotes running around and warning signs to not reach through the wire fence ..."they bite".
More of the coyotes running around.
Two grizzly bears - one small and one large. This is the small one just getting out of the pond.
He was headed up to the large one - who was just sitting in the dirt watching everything.
The small one came back to the viewing glass - still wet.
The large one finally came down to the viewing area and rubbed it's back on this pole!

Roller Derby
On Saturday, August 8th - we drove down to Utah Valley to watch the Gallatin Roller Girls have a roller derby bout with Utah Valley Derby Darlins - the JV won big, and Varsity lost by not too much! Julie helped coach the JV - they are the team in black - coaches in green behind them. Utah Valley Bridal Veil Dolls and Molly Morbins ... fun.
The Montana girls taking the rink - tiny, tiny venue. Fun fact - \Nicki Evans - a neighbor in Springville, skated for the other team - number four. Stan was going to talk to her after the bout - we left at intermission so we could get back to Pocatello before midnight.
Some of the action! The flag on the wall is the only one in the arena ... at Bozeman a skater holds a big flag and skates around during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.
Here are some of the adults watching - Chris, Stan, Lindsey and baby! Polly and Dad/Grandpa! Heather and Chris had taken their kids outside to run around a little bit - this is the only seating - lame! Julie's Dad and Grandpa came also with their girl friends - they sat on chairs on the floor.
Here are most of the grandchildren who enjoyed the action ... Uncle Stan bought them hockey pucks to throw out on the rink during intermission - they could have won prizes - they enjoyed it even not winning. Briella and Georgia stayed with their parents. Julie and Stan went on the the Dam Jam - fun event!

Best Birthday Cake Ever!
Such pretty flowers - making turning seventy years at least smell good!
Kate and Annabelle worked all morning on this delicious chocolate cake for my birthday ... Jennie supplied the recipe - it was so moist and yummy! Notice also the glass pitcher - remember the one I was given for Christmas one year? I put it on top of the fridge to keep it out of harms way - and then someone opened the door of the fridge and it fell - didn't even last one day! Loved all my birthday cards, calls and wishes - thanks to all.

Bannock County Fair
We drove to Downey to the Bannock County Fair - pretty low keyed but fun. This horse wanted its picture taken - just stayed right there when we stopped for photos!
This is the softest bunny - very tame.
Chickens - the roosters kept crowing!
Elephant Ears - yummy as usual.
We found Wilbur ... and his friends!
One hundred years - 1915 - 2015 - nice celebration.

Baseball Game
Birthday party at the Ball Park! Pocatello won 18 - 2!!
Not too bad for being 70 years old~
We had a great time - Joel was ready to catch a foul ball - they all went over our heads.
Go Gate City Grays - beat the Brigham City Peaches.
