Aunt Janice turns 80!

 March 21st was the First Day of Spring - and Aunt Janice's 80th Birthday!  We drove the three youngest girls to Bountiful to wish her a Happy Birthday - she and Uncle Wayne looked great!

Here is the whole group ... the Fairbanks girls are the cutest!  they had fun running around the back yard and seeing the ducks that were on the creek that flows past their house.

 March 19th we got to drive to Provo and take care of the darling Fairbanks grand daughters for a week.  Dan and Lindsey were in Germany - his sister Michelle had them over the weekend.  They are so creative - here is Sadie and Georgia with their block city!

 After School Aunt Polly came over and we all headed to McDonalds - the girls loved the play space and Polly and I loved chatting for over an hour!

Dad's good job - Mom's new sweatshirt!

 Dad put up pegboard behind the water heater today - we are getting ready to put the house on the market and this is a good Saturday project.

 Turned out well, huh?  The old board was a different color but we figured it didn't matter - at least not to us!

Aunt Sue send me this cool Smith College Sweatshirt - not so sure about the color but love it!

Thia and Riddick

 It was good to have Stan, Julie and Thia stop Monday on their way back to Bozeman - didn't stay nearly long enough - that would be about 6 weeks!!

 Riddick is good protector of darling Thia.

Icicles on the front of the truck - back to winter for a few weeks - I love the snow - covers up the ugly back yard!

Thia visits Grandma and Grandpa Smith

 Look what wonderful visitors we had today!!!  Stan, Julie and darling Thia - they are on their way down to Salt Lake - Julie's sister Heidi and family are in town and they will spend the weekend with them - Julie's Dad got them all ski passes to Deer Valley tomorrow - fun, fun, fun!

 Stan had the tread mill on the slowest speed and put her at the front and she would glide to the end - and he's catch her - she loved it!!

Sure love this little darling - she is saying:  Da-Da - so cute!  Jabbers and plays with toys - wish we lived closer!!

RS Stake Service Project

 Our Stake RS Meeting was tonight - we had a nice dinner and then made these baby hats for stillborn infants.  It is a program called Angel Babies - or Teeny Tears - check it out online.  They are very easy to make - using surgical gauze - the smallest are 2 inches, the middle ones 3 inches and the largest are 4 inches.  The tiny ones are for 12 week to 15 weeks, the middle ones 16 to 20 weeks and the largest for above 20 weeks.  They will be given to hospitals in our area for the dressing of stillborn babies to wear when they are taken to their parents to say goodbye.  You can also make 12 x 12 blankets, and small kimono gowns - check the website.  There take make 5 minutes to make!!

This was at each of our plates at the dinner - I spilled my water!!  Lovely evening.

Simplot Games - Indoor Track Meet

 We noticed this ad in the newspaper a couple weeks ago - a couple in our ward are the Directors of Volunteers - so Dad volunteered!

 Held in Idaho State's Holt Arena - wooden track - athletes can't wear spikes on their shoes.

 Dad was an umpire - on the second turn of the track - he would hold up this white flag when 'all was well' with the runners - I think that young man was the last one in this heat.

Waiting for the runners - isn't he cute?  I dropped him off in the morning and came to watch the last few races at 5:00 - he gets to keep the shirt, and got a ticket for lunch!

I know this is sideways - don't know how to correct it .. just wanted you to see the high school athlete who had his legs amputated below the knees when he was ll months old - he won two races!!
