Kyle's "Talk in church"

Sunday, October 30, 2016 - Elder Kyle Williams - recently returned missionary - gave a wonderful talk in church.  We were so proud of him ... it was a great meeting.  We left after he spoke so Dad could get to an important meeting in Pocatello at 1:30 - the Williams after their meeting block went to another missionary 'talk in church' - a friend of Kyle's that entered the MTC the same day, had their farewells the same day and now their homecoming the same Sunday - at least at different times!  Lovely time in Provo and Pleasant Grove this weekend...Happy Halloween tomorrow to all!

LaCasita and Polly's Birthday dinner

We celebrated Polly's Birthday dinner early tonight at La Casita - they brought here this dessert and somburo (sp) and sang to her!
Little (?) Louis was there and so was his wife Katie and daughter - can't remember her name.  He said he would love to see Stan and Kurt one of these days!!
Here is our whole party - Polly, Chris and parents!
Best Mexican food in Utah - at least in our opinion!
New painting on the wall of the front - also new parking lot at the north side ... see at the left above the motorcycle where is says: Hey Mexicans!

Fairbanks Ward Trunk - Treat - Chili cook off

Friday evening it was the Fairbanks ward - truck or treat and chili cook off.  Here are the cute girls all ready in their customs -  notice Lindsey at the back in Granny's old polyester suit!
Such fun happy smiles!  Olivia was a troll on a mushroom, Sadie a witch, Georgia a dances, Millie an elephant!
Dan was a Rugby player - Lindsey from the 70's!
It was a fun evening - people would tell Dan:  you look like a real rugby player - and he would answer: I am a real rugby player!
Saturday morning Dan and Lindsey had youth temple trip baptism and then did family sealings - we were blessed to supervise the girls doing their Saturday jobs - here is Sadie and Georgia cleaning the upstairs bathroom - did a great job!
Here is Olivia doing the downstairs one - so love that you are all teaching your children how to work!

Early Thanksgiving with Williams Family - Welcome Home Kyle

Thursday, Oct. 27th - we drove to Pleasant Grove for a family early Thanksgiving Dinner - honoring Kyle's return from his mission.  Becca and River had to leave Friday morning to go back to Hawaii.  Here are the cousins playing on the new beautiful green lawn at the Williams house.
Olivia was given a jump rope at school this week - and loves it!  She is really good for only a week of practice!
The weather was so nice the kids wanted to eat dinner on the porch - fine with the rest of us!
The big table - Jessica and Brandon,  Julie (Mary's daughter) Becca and River,  Dick, Eli, Chris and Heather.

Small table - Polly, Chris (when he got back from taking the Scout Charter around!) Dad, and Dan, Lindsey and I also.  Yummy food - great company!  I noticed Kyle standing in the background as dinner was getting ready.  I asked him if he wanted to go downtown to a movie?  No - he replied - just downstairs in a room to hide!
We used to be Grand - but now we are Great!  Cute Hunter - Jessica and Brandon's almost three year old, and Sweet River - Becca and Myles 3 month old... we like being 'great'!
The whole crew - Polly asked a neighbor to come over and take the picture - he did a great job!  Back row - Jessica, Brandon, Julie, Becca, Kyle, Chris and Polly.  Next row: Dick holding Hunter, Cindy holding River, me and Dad. Next row:  Eli, Chris, Heather, Lindsey holding Millie, Dan.  Front row: Olivia (mediating!) Isaac, Georgia, Briella and Sadie - Keenyn behind Sadie.
Budding artists on the front porch!

Kate comes to get Joel and Anna - Burning Bush

Kate came to Pocatello on Sunday to get Joel and Anna - Joel had a sewing project to finish so here he is doing that!  Notice the cute curly hair!! not my messy sewing table!!
camera on the hood of the truck - Kate asked a neighbor across the street to come take our picture.
 Worked much better - right?

Our front yard - the burning bush is so pretty this year... Dad noticed the yellow leaves on the tree in the back yard - and the green ones to the left of the picture!

Joel and Anna visit Pocatello

With Joel and Anna on Fall break - they wanted to visit their friends in Pocatello.  Friday we drove toward Hyrum and Kate drove north and we met and Joel and Anna got to ride in the jump seats in the truck back to Pocatello.  It was their old school's fall festival and here is Anna with Grace enjoying the fun times.
James is Joel's friend from just across the street - cute boys!
It was fun to have kids in the house again.  Grace spent the night at our house, Joel at James - as they were going deer hunting early in the morning.
James shot this buck near Burley - his dad was raised in that area and has a hunting camp all set up with four wheelers and all - nice for a 14 year old, huh?
Today one of James's uncles also got a big buck - 5 x 5 - Joel's holding on to it.  Anna said: "gross!"
The whole hunting party - good meat for the winter.

More Provo Pictures

I love watching the grand children playing with my 66 year old doll cupboard at Kroeber's house.
Sweet Millie wasn't feeling too well - still cute though!
Ready to drive to Salt Lake for church and dinner with the Fairbanks family.
Saturday night baths - Olivia was with Dan and Lindsey on her birthday dinner - and cleaning a building!

BYU Homecoming 2016

Saturday, Oct. 15th - we drove to Provo to join the family there for the BYU Homecoming parade ...we were too late for the blue pancake breakfast but everyone said it was good!  Chris and Eli were on a scout overnight - and Chris W was working - but the rest of us enjoyed the parade.
It was a beautiful fall day - notice Sadie with bare feet!!
Cosmo is always a hit!  loved the love music.
Serious reading of the free literature!
The Fairbanks family - minus Sadie ... Olive was just handed this cool shirt!
Pokemon!! The kids got tons of candy -
This is the 90+ lady who began the BYU Folk Dancers in 1956 - we were happy to see she was still alive!  Looking pretty good!
Dancing between the floats - nice to be near the DJ - he played awesome music.
Pleasant Grove City float - notice the crowns on the kids.
Ever seen a graduate hat going down the road?  Me neither - had to take a pic of it!

Fossil Butte, Wyoming

We drove on US Highway 30 home from CO ... Dad mentioned that he has driven by this National Monument several times and wanted to stop and check it out - glad we did!  We have a Senior Pass to National Parks - but this is free!
It was very interesting and educational - just out in the boon docks!  The whole of the West was covered with a huge lake - and now the fossils are found in the tops of the mountains.
These are fossils of plants - there were fossils of flowers, seeds, insects, mammals, fish, all kinds of things...the ranger said as the lake became smaller - all the fossils were more concentrated in this area.
Here are some animal fossils...not just me!
One of the largest animals found.
 Fishes of all kinds.
