Judge Dave Dillon's retirement party.

Wednesday afternoon we were happy to attend the Retirement Party for Dave Dillon - he has worked at the Family Domestic Court in Davis Country for 21 years.  Here are his five clerk's during those years - singing a fun song about him.  There were so many wonderful things said about Dave and his work ethic, patience, concern for the children in the families he had contact with, etc.
The Old Professor and the Judge!!  We only lived in Carbondale, Illinois for two years - and now feel like we went there so Dave could have contact with our family and join the Church.

Wheeler Farm Visit

On Wednesday, June 29th - we took the oldest girls to Wheeler Farms - here they are on the wooden sleigh - aren't they cute?
Cute Grandpa with the girls on the hay truck!
Isn't that a great old truck?
Two baby goats- we reached through the wire fence and tickled their backs!
Tom Turkey - I said we would eat him for Thanksgiving and the girls were horrified!
Ducks and geese in the pond.
Yummy Otter Pops at the creamery store.
Beautiful flowers - planted especially to attract butterflies - we saw several.

Fairy Houses

The Creative Fairbanks girls made "Fairy Houses" on their front sidewalk.
Sadie - flowers and leaves  - if I was a Fairy I would live here!
Even 2 year old Sadie made a cute Fairy House!!

Springville Splash Pad

The Springville splash pad is a fun shallow river - with rocks to climb on - here's cute Georgia having fun!
Several statues of children playing - and Georgia playing also!
 More splashing!!
Cute Olivia also enjoying the fun in the sun!
 Sadie was having a blast!
 Sadie 'swimming' in the river.
Three beautiful Fairbanks girls - having fun!
Posing at the statue - our girls are beautiful!!

More Fun with Fairbanks

Dad and I came back to Provo June 27 - 29 to help with the Fairbanks girls ... so Lindsey could get lots of work done on her school project.  We went to the Rotary Park for Storytime - isn't Millie darling?
Swings are so much fun!  now Sadie can 'pump' for herself!!
 Fun, cute Fairbanks girls!!
Dancing to Story Time at the Park.
Jenny Shaw and Lisa with three of her 5 girls, she also has 5 boys!  yep - 10 children!  We went to the Springville plash pad and they came right up to say hello.  Jenny said that Ken started going to church and was ordained to the Priesthood, when they were sealed in the temple - all their children were there.  She said some aren't active now - but I told her she accomplished more than I have!!
She thanked Dad for being a good Bishop and making a difference in people's lives.

Water Park with the Kroeber's

After the hard work at the Williams - we went to the River Woods Splash Pad with the Kreober's - lots of fun.
Fun to play with cousins ... Joel actually said it was more fun than he thought it was going to be!
 Crazy cousins!!
 Sunning at the splash pad.
Yummy ice cream cones - thanks Grandma!  Summer is more fun with grandkids around.

Provo Work and Play

Joel and Annabelle helping shovel rocks into the bucket of the tractor - Uncle Chris doing most of the work!
Nice to have help!  Thanks to all those who have been rock shoveling helpers!
Aunt Polly bought us all yummy cupcakes!  Yay for Aunt Polly!
Dad's cute Father's Day banner from the Hardy's!
Sam sent these items he got for us in Thailand - Elephants are good luck - one in the frame and on the book mark.  Sea shells with scented candles in them - thanks Sam!
Kate planted this Lavendar plant last year - it has tripled in size!!

Joel's Baseball Game

On Thursday, June 16, we drove to Wellsville to watch Joel's baseball team.  Here Joel takes a might swing - and misses - see the ball?
Then he did get a short tapper to the left of the mound ... see the ball again?
Great running form Joel ... ball was fielded cleanly and Joel was out at first - but advanced a runner to second!
So fun to be with Kate, Ben, Annabelle and Joel - even just for a short ball game.

Church in Richmond and Sam's deer mount

After Church at the Pike's ward we enjoyed a 'linger longer' - Ben made a delicious rice and meat and vegetable dish in the crock pot - here the boys are climbing a tree in the yard.
Handsome Pike boys - facing the sun!
Next morning before Grandpa went to get Emilee - Tal would be at school when we left for NC - tired to get a picture of all four of us - didn't work too well.
Not sure why the burst of sunlight in the window - other than that - cute picture!!
Last we tried in the front room - but I think the automatic timer was fuzzy or the flash didn't go off or something - oh well!
Jennie and kids came to Richmond on their way home from the Beach - they picked us up and we loved driving with them home.  Sam shot this white tail deer last November - had the mount mailed to Jennie's for 20 dollars, not the 100 needed to get it to Anchorage!  Grace is admiring it!
Sam will come pick it up sometime!!

Virginia Beach

Saturday we drove to Virginia Beach - through awful traffic - and met the Hardy's who had come up from North Carolina...so much fun to play at the beach with cousins!!
Sophie dung up tiny baby clams - and a bigger bug that we didn't know what it was.  Check out Dad's beach outfit - no socks and pants legs roller up...he did bring a swimming suit but didn't want to put it on.

Grace and Noah on the boogie boards - fun waves.
Baden in the hot sand!! So glad Jennie had this beach umbrella for shade.
Here's the bug at the top of the shovel - I named it a sea going cockroach!!
Ben shoveling Baden in the sand.
 Mermaid Sophie!
The boys found this 'bunker' near our umbrella and had a great time playing soldier - they would make up events and then run down to the ocean to carry them out.
We made a huge sand castle - started by cousins - finished by grandma!  So much fun!!
