Haunted Science Lab

The Kiwanis Club of Pocatello sponsors this fun Halloween event.  Kate went last year with Anna's third grade class so we took the kids this afternoon.  It is in an old warehouse on the west side of town.
Here Joel and Annabelle are finding 'eye balls' -
Here they are cranking the machines to make electricity - Grandpa watching.
Inside the black strobe light room - pretty creepy!
This was something with laser and water - not sure what.  The students were at each station to explain what was happening - pretty slick to have some Halloween fright fun and education at the same time!!
Joel and Anna put on masks and sat on each side of this glass thing - not sure what it was supposed to do - but they liked it.
Here is pretty Anna in a horrible mask!
Joel's shadow frozen on the wall!
Anna's frozen also - pretty cool.
Notice the head on the table behind them - it was moving all around - the 'table' was really mirrors!  Fun way to spend a few hours on the Saturday before Halloween.

Beautiful Granddaughters

Friday we had planned on driving to Logan and attending the temple ... as we were a block away from our house I happened to wonder if it was closed -- Dad turned around and checked our little schedule and sure enough - closed for two weeks for cleaning...So we drove to Rexburg and got to attend the temple and take these beautiful Fromm Girls out to Lunch!
This is my favorite Halloween decoration!  It is getting pretty worn out but I like it!  What Lovely Teeth you Have - My Pretties!!
Friday afternoon and early evening was the School Carnival at Annabelle's school - here she is with her friend Grace - Joel was no where to be found!
Annabelle and Grace again - changed places!!
At the outside part of the festivities.
Kate's friend took a picture of all of us - minus Joel.
Joel found his mom when he was hungry for dinner!

More ISU Parade

This cool old truck had the Shriners and a loud siren!!
This dinosaur was from the ISU Museum of Natural History - and would run at little kids and scare them!
A local dance studio was blaring loud dance music and asking people to dance - Joel did!
Joel still dancing - with the football that a float was throwing out - he actually caught this one and then a smaller one he gave to Annabelle.
This campus dept. was also playing loud music - from Grease!  Huge rollers in their hair!
Kate noticed that the rollers spelled I - S - U - loved the music!!
Have you ever seen a pickup Limo?  Now we have!! only in Idaho?
Annabelle with all the candy - footballs, toothbrushes, etc. from the parade - such fun!

National Guard in the ISU Parade

The Idaho National Guard had this huge tank in the parade.
We were near overhead wires but this gun barrel goes straight up in the air - we saw it the block before ours.
Everyone clapped for the soldiers - and their awesome equipment.
We liked this VW - Fine Art Club!
A dog grooming place in town had their staff and customers with dogs in the parade.
Last week it was Cosmo the Cougar - this week Benny the Bengal!!  Fun that both days the mascot was on our side of the street!
Anna wanted me to take a picture of the tiger in front of the truck...
..and this one on top of the truck!
Then we saw this truck with both!!

Idaho State University Homecoming Parade Sat. October 17th, 2015

Last Saturday, Oct. 10th we watched the BYU Homecoming parade with family in Provo - this Saturday, Oct. 17th we watched the ISU Parade with the Mortensen's in Pocatello!!  Here we are waiting for it to start.
Joel is getting really good at this balancing thing toy - he said his middle school has banned them from school.
Still waiting for the parade - we found a nice spot where those who wanted warmth could be in the sun and those who wanted cooler temps could be in the shade!!
Yay for the Flag - and our wonderful country!  and for the parade finally starting!!
Fun old truck - and ISU Cheerleaders!
The parade came up the hill - we could see it 10 blocks down the hill!
Took a picture of BYU's marching band last week - this time it is ISU's - I love marching bands!
