Wenatchee to Pocatello!

Tuesday morning, Sydney had skype interviews with three high schools to do her student teaching next year. I told her she looked very professional - and she said she had her yoga pants on! but you can't see them!  She did awesome in the first interview Heidi and I listened in the other room!  - she already has Las Vegas High School wanting her - so yay for Sydney!
This took the place of the piano in the Fromm front room!
Fromm's pretty flowering cherry tree - spring is beautiful.
Magnet on the Fromm's fridge - thought Sam would love it!
The new home of the piano for now - Anna wants to learn and Ben can teach her!  Fits perfect in Kate's front room.  Heidi said when she told Shelby they were getting rid of it - Shelby asked: Where will be put the Christmas Village?"  I'm sure they'll find another place!

Moving the Piano

On Monday, March 23rd - we drove to Wenatchee - lovely drive!  The Fromm's were finished using the Family Piano and for now - Kate's family will have it.  Polly would like it to land with her when Kate's finished - any body else want to get in line?
The Fromm's home teachers were coming over after a family birthday party - we wanted to have it out of the house and ready to load on the truck.
It was Matt's 16th birthday!  and they came over and helped lift it right up in the truck!  Fromm's gave them a bag of yummy Canadian pretzels and a German chocolate bar! We sure appreciated their help.
Stefan thought someone should sit in the truck and play the piano as we drove home - couldn't find anyone!
Dad and Stefan got it all wrapped and secure - no falling out of this truck!!  Shades of Green Bay and Brother Biolo tipping our other one.  We got all the way home without any trouble.  Thanks so much Fromms - we gave the blue tarp and rachet straps to Jordan to bring home in April.

Senior Couple Missionaries

We drove to Clifton, ID this morning for the mission report of our friends Vince and Corliss Whitehead.  They were the Humanitarian couple the last part of our mission in Jamaica.  Kroeber's helped us build a chicken coop for them, Polly and Chris actually went with them a whole day of humanitarian work - up in the bush!  It was wonderful to see them and they gave great gospel talks.  They are the couple next to us, then the Murdocks from AZ - they took over after the Whiteheads... Then the Larsens from Parawan UT.  He carved coconut shell nativity sets for all the senior couples - while his wife taught keyboard lessons all over the island.  They have gone on three missions!
These wonderful sisters just had to hug each other!  Brother Murdock remembered Dad calling him at their house before they came to Jamaica.  Dad was in charge of getting apartments for them and had a couple lined up and wanted to talk to them to see which they wanted.  Bro. Murdock, told him on the phone -" I really don't care, I'll have my wife with me so it needs to be safe."  Dad said:  Well it is in a secure gated community - but no where is absolutely safe!  Bro. Murdock said it took him back a little bit - but they learned to love it as we did - and the Lord protects for the most part.  Wonderful service and luncheon afterward and we drove the hour back to Pocatello in time for our ward at 1:00.

Idaho happenings

You know you live in Idaho when you see an ad in the newspaper for "Old horse manure"!!
At an Assembly at Poky High School the robotics team did a demonstration - they stacked six of these bins and then a round garbage can on top of the six!
Here the robot has stacked four of the bins, has the last two and the round can on top!
When it finished the whole deal - the crowd yelled and clapped and it was awesome!
The last of the assembly was a demo by these BMX riders - They were advertising the Ramp Riot at ISU in April.  One of the three world class riders was from Pocatello!  another one from Idaho Falls and the third from Australia!  The one from Pocatello talked to the students about doing their best in high school and reaching their potential...pretty good really.
He also talked about them reaching their dreams - he said there was one competitions that over 400 started - it came down to 8 people in the whole world chosen - four were Americans, 2 from Idaho!!  They were really good - gold medal winners at XGames good!!  They had the basketball coach sit on a chair - they said they were going to jump over him - then they practiced with an empty chair - and knocked it down!  The coach was a good sport and of course they sailed over his head!!

More Last Basketball Game

Inside the limo!
Grandpa and Kate, with Anna and her friend Grace.
Joel sticking his head out of the limo!  Happy smile!
 Joel at Buffalo Wild Wings.
 Waiting for their food.
Such a fun celebration!

Joel's last basketball game

The scoreboard of Joel's last basketball game - Joel's team were the Guests!  They all played so much better than 6 weeks ago!
Coming out of the school - there was this limo waiting to take Joel's team - Tigers - to Buffalo Wild Wings. Kate at the right, Anna and her friend Grace front center.  Kate over heard a lady saying it is too much for 10 and 11 years - another team members mother said to her:  "Our coach has stage four cancer, and we are just celebrating his life."  It's true - and sad.
 Joel's number 32!
 Another fun sign.
The boys were so excited about this!  I told Joel - I've never ridden in a limo!

Adventures in Subbing!

I subbed for two days in a Freshman English class at Poky high school - the teacher had left worksheets for the students to do ... I told them if they did them both days then we would have a 'snowball' fight - with paper.  They did and we did - here is the recycle bin full of the wadded up paper snowballs!
I liked this poster on the wall of a health room I was in last week.
This was on the wall of a senior American History class.
Today I was subbing in the Century High School Choir room.  I noticed these jars on the top of the cupboard at the back of the room.  I wondered if they were full of buttons, candy, what?
Upon closer inspection - they are full of ....?
GUM!!!  I think the Choir Teacher collected it over the years - since she wouldn't allow the students to be in choir and sing with gum in their mouths!!  When Kate saw this picture and realized what it was - she almost gagged it was so gross to her!
We voted this week at Green Acres School, for a new levy.  This was in the hallway - Dad took my picture and I really DO pledge to read - every chance I get!!

Chris Williams Birthday Party

Sunday March first - Chris's birthday!  It was fun to gather at the Williams with the Kreobers and Fairbanks to celebrate.  Wish we could do the same with all of your birthdays!
Briella and Georgia love playing on the stairs.
Kroeber boys loved the ice cream!
When Polly came to Pocatella in February - we worked on this tee shirt quilt for Chris's birthday present.
The quilt turned out really nice - I think!  So does Chris that is the important thing.
Everything turned out great!  yummy cake and wonderful people to party with!

Fairbanks have Chickens!

Here is the chicken coop and six hens that Fairbanks were given from a family in their ward who are moving. Dan had to fence the 'yard' and do some other minor repairs - but the price was right!
Olivia and Sadie like to hold a piece of green grass though the fence and the chicken peck it from their hands!
After only three days in their new home - three of them laid eggs!!  really fresh eggs!

More Emma's Baptism

Here we are with Christian, Clark and Sheffield - Kurt and Emily's three sons!
Savanna and friend at the luncheon - isn't she pretty?  I love her freckles.
Emma and her Sheffield and Smith grandparents - what a pretty girl - pretty lucky also!
Snow bunny under a tree at the Church where Emma was baptized - they are all over the place.
Aunt Sue made this quilt for her granddaughter Gaea's high school graduation this spring...isn't it awesome?  Sue asked Gaea what color or kind she wanted - she said she wanted a 'scrappy' design.  She used lots of scraps of fabric that she'd made things for Gaea while she was growing up.
